SELICHOT
Selichot are special prayers for forgiveness that are said during the month
of Elul in preparation for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

EREV ROSH HASHANAH
The beginning service of Rosh Hashanah

ROSH HASHANAH 1st DAY
A traditional Rosh Hashanah service, the THZ way

ROSH HASHANAH 2nd DAY
A spiritual celebration of the Birthday of the World that is innovative, inviting, and inspirational! Renewal style with congregational participation, English readings, music, singing, meditation, and Kabbalistic insights.

TASHLIKH
We “cast our sins” (in the form of birdseed) into flowing waters.

SHABBAT SHUVAH
The Shabbat between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is called Shabbat Shuvah, Shabbat of Return, because its special haftarah reading begins with the words “shuvah Yisrael,” “return O Israel,” a message to us all as we seek teshuva, return, during this season.

KOL NIDRE
The Yom Kippur evening service begins before sundown with this annulment of vows and speech. We often dress in white as we seek to have our “insides match our outsides” and have our spiritual slates wiped clean.

YOM KIPPUR
Traditional prayers are interspersed with insightful and meaningful readings and kavannot (intentions). White clothing is traditional.
