Rabbi Nathan recently spoke at NJ Immigrants: Blessings and Benefits, an event at Cooper River Park sponsored by the Multi-Faith Immigration Reform Committee (MIRC). MIRC is a grassroots collaboration of members from Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Cherry Hill, the UU Church in Cherry Hill, St Mary’s Catholic Church, local Friends Meetings, and local Presbyterian churches. This group is a collection of faith based-volunteers. Its activities include service and advocacy:
- accompanying immigrants to medical and immigration appointments
- English learning support
- advocacy for drivers’ licenses for immigrants
- advocacy for passage of the Immigrant Trust Act in New Jersey
